Homegrown automaker Tata Motors has launched the “Kaziranga Edition” variants of its Punch, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari SUVs in India.As for the highlights, the models sport cosmetic changes both inside and out and offer new tech-based features such as connected car technology and air purification.They are available with a choice of BS6-compliant petrol as well as diesel engines.

The Kaziranga Editions of the Tata Punch, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari, flaunt blacked-out alloy wheels, a Rhino badge on the front fenders as well as the rear windscreen, and a Grassland Beige paint option.The vehicles also have sleek headlights, wrap-around taillamps, door scuff plates with “Kaziranga” lettering, ORVMs, roof rails, and blacked-out B-pillars.However, the dimensions of the cars remain unchanged.

The Kaziranga Editions get dual-tone Earthy Beige leatherette upholstery, a black dashboard, and a silhouette of a one-horned rhino on the front seat headrests.The Punch offers connected car technology, while Nexon alwo has auto-dimming IRVM, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.Barring the auto-dimming IRVM, Harrier and Safari pack all features of the Nexon.

A choice of petrol and diesel engines are offered
The Punch Kaziranga Edition is fueled by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that makes 86hp of power.The Nexon is offered with a 120hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol mill and a 110hp, 1.5-liter diesel motor.Finally, the Harrier and Safari run on a 170hp, 2.0-liter diesel unit.Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed MT, 5-speed AMT, 6-speed MT, and a 6-speed AMT gearbox.

The Kaziranga Edition of Tata Punch costs Rs. 8.58 lakh, while Nexon is priced at Rs. 11.78 lakh and Rs. 13.08 lakh, respectively, for petrol and diesel versions. The special Harrier retails for Rs. 20.4 lakh, while the Safari starts at Rs. 20.99 lakh.
